Fred Hamrick



Mr. Fred Eugene Hamrick, 72, of Oak Grove Road, passed away on May 26, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  He was born on June 16, 1937 in Cleveland County to the late Victor  Lee and Rachel Clary Hamrick. 
Fred served in the U. S. Army as a Military Police.  He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a former usher.   He retired from Shelby Printing, continued working at Lowes Home Improvement in the garden center, and at Cleveland Community College as a security guard.    He enjoyed gardening and fishing. 
In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nellie Sue Fraser, Annie Rae Bridges and Nancy Mayes.
He is survived by his brothers, W. Keever Hamrick of Kings Mountain, Lamar Hamrick of Shelby, Dr. Ector Hamrick and wife Carol of Portsmouth, Virginia, and sister, Emily Mayes and husband Kenneth of Kings Mountain and his brother-in-laws, Carl Bridges of Shelby and Wayne Mayes of Kings Mountain.  Many loving nieces, nephews and friends. 
 Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary of Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Northcutt and Dr. Ector Hamrick officiating. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends after the service in the sanctuary of Oak Grove Baptist Church at other times the family will be at the home of his brother, W. Keever Hamrick, 1138 Oak Grove Road, Kings  Mountain.
